St. Louis, MO (Oct. 10, 2011) – The King of Beers has made a major donation to the Rally Squirrel Charity Apparel effort. Anheuser-Busch In-Bev has covered all the costs for manufacturing thousands of new hats (complete with a Squirrel tail in the back), t-shirts and trading cards, to help SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center. The new line of merchandise will be released today at a fun press conference, featuring Rally Squirrel himself and 12-year- old spokesperson, Lauren Lee.
Rally Squirrel announced Saturday that he would like his recent fame and notoriety to stand for something and kids are naturally his first choice. The Cardinal Glennon Children’s Foundation was honored to learn that Rally has chosen SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center to be the sole beneficiary of the new line of RS apparel. The Cardinals need some “Rally Squirrel Magic” after losing Game One on Sunday to the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship series.
According to his agent, Rally Squirrel says, “I’m just nuts about the life-saving work of SSM Cardinal Glennon. I know many of my fans have been touched by the work of this world class medical center, and I don’t want to squirrel hole all this notoriety.” After learning that Anheuser-Busch has joined his efforts, Rally Squirrel said, “Usually I’m a bit nervous around Eagles, but not this time. They’re gift allows all the sales of this squirrelly stuff to help Cardinal Glennon kids win their battles against illnesses and injuries.”
One of those Cardinal Glennon kids is Hodgkin’s lymphoma survivor and Glennon Ambassador Lauren Lee. Lauren’s life was saved at SSM Cardinal Glennon and because of her bravery in battling her cancer; she has been selected as Rally’s charity spokesperson. Lauren & Rally Squirrel will hold a press conference Monday, October 10, 9:30am in Kiener Plaza to unveil the new RS logo and apparel line.
