Special Needs Tracking & Awareness Response System
All proceeds from Scoops of Fun will benefit the STARS Program at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, which trains local ambulance districts, fire districts and community hospitals in Missouri and Illinois to recognize and appropriate respond to children with special medical needs.
Once a family identifies a child for participation in the STARS Program, local first responders use specialized training and equipment to formulate a response plan that is tailored to that children’s unique needs. Those response plans helps to reduce anxiety for children and their families, improve the quality of emergency care, and bring our knowledge and expertise to local care providers.
The local fire districts are competing to have the highest attendance from their districts at the event. When registering be sure to fill in the line asking which district you’re in as the winning district will receive a golden scoop!
