Thank you for supporting Cardinal Glennon kids!
I’m asking you to jump on board and help with this years Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital Tree of Hope campaign and I’m hoping music will inspire you! One of the cool programs they have available at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital is child life and musical therapy. There are specially-trained therapists who support the emotional, developmental, psychosocial and educational needs patients through a variety of activities.
And they can’t do it without the support of people like you during the Tree of Hope Campaign.
Your generous donations during this vital time of year make musical therapy and so many of the other great resources at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital possible. They simply can’t do it without your support…and it’s easy to make a donation! Even a little support makes a BIG difference in the lives of the sickest and smallest patients. Kid get scared…but music therapy helps ease that stress. - Mark Reardon, 97.1 FMTalk

1 pound, 10 ounces. That is all Hailey weighed at birth.
After a complicated pregnancy, Jennifer’s little miracle came prematurely at 26 weeks. Hailey immediately was transferred to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital for her best chance of survival.
In her first few months of life, Hailey developed klebsiella pneumonia, along with bronchopulmonary dysplasia, a form of chronic lung disease. Hailey’s tiny body was fighting hard, yet she continued to decline.
“Her doctors told me she needed an emergency tracheotomy. It would be a risky surgery, but I couldn’t give up on her. I had to put my faith and trust in her Cardinal Glennon team,” says Hailey’s mom, Jennifer. Thankfully, our skilled physicians performed her surgery and gave Hailey another chance at life. After 277 long days, she left SSM Health Cardinal Glennon and started the next chapter of her healing.
Hailey is now a happy one-year-old child with a big personality. While she has a long road of recovery ahead, Hailey continues to show her strength and bring joy to her family and care team. “Every minute I get to spend with my daughter is because of Cardinal Glennon and the amazing people in the community who help this special place,” says Jennifer.
