Thank you for supporting Cardinal Glennon kids!
From a very early age, I dreamed of being a wife and mother. I dressed my Barbie dolls up and talked to them about getting married and having children. I didn't have a Ken doll, otherwise I'm sure I would've staged a Barbie wedding! While dreaming of motherhood, I never imagined my children getting sick. I was blessed with two healthy sons and that's why I am standing shoulder to shoulder with Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital and this year's TREE OF HOPE KMOX TEAM.
Because most parents are just like me, they never thought, "What if my child gets sick?" I'm inviting you to join me and give at Treeofhope.org/kmox I want to help Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital be ready for every mom and dad that gets frightening health news! Join me and help the TREE OF HOPE KMOX TEAM continue the mission of helping every child that needs us.

Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital has discovered unique ways to help heal a child and help them find hope. We’ve all heard that music heals the soul…It’s been shown to provide positive results in reducing pain, anxiety, stress and much more. Music Therapy is used at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital daily to assist patients by improving their experience.
Equally as important is the Footprints Program, you may remember the Footprints poem, this program makes sure the child’s pain and symptoms are properly manage. There is a term I learned from a family that spent time at a pediatric hospital. It’s called a “halo,” and it’s referring to the mark on the wall of the waiting room that a parent leaves after resting their tired head for long periods of time.
I think about what Cardinal Glennon offers to those parents. They offer hope. They offer world class, family-centered health care. They offer a place to turn that won’t turn them away because of the inability to pay. And that’s why I support Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. I want to make sure organizations that are vital to children are here forever, and parents have a place to rest their head knowing the very best are taking care of their child. 1 pound, 10 ounces. That is all Hailey weighed at birth.
After a complicated pregnancy, Jennifer’s little miracle came prematurely at 26 weeks. Hailey immediately was transferred to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital for her best chance of survival.
In her first few months of life, Hailey developed klebsiella pneumonia, along with bronchopulmonary dysplasia, a form of chronic lung disease. Hailey’s tiny body was fighting hard, yet she continued to decline.
“Her doctors told me she needed an emergency tracheotomy. It would be a risky surgery, but I couldn’t give up on her. I had to put my faith and trust in her Cardinal Glennon team,” says Hailey’s mom, Jennifer. Thankfully, our skilled physicians performed her surgery and gave Hailey another chance at life. After 277 long days, she left SSM Health Cardinal Glennon and started the next chapter of her healing.
Hailey is now a happy one-year-old child with a big personality. While she has a long road of recovery ahead, Hailey continues to show her strength and bring joy to her family and care team. “Every minute I get to spend with my daughter is because of Cardinal Glennon and the amazing people in the community who help this special place,” says Jennifer.
