SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center
ST. LOUIS, MO (April 28, 2015) – The Cardinal Glennon Children’s Foundation and the Glennon Guild announced today that the 2015 Glennon Card shopping days will be held October 23 through November 1. Throughout this 10-day shopping period, shoppers who purchase a Glennon Card will receive a generous 20 percent discount at more than 300 stores, restaurants and salons. All card purchases benefit the patients at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center.
During the 2014 program, 3,200 Glennon Cards were purchased, raising $159,991 to benefit the medical center. Additional sponsor contributions resulted in a total of $182,494 raised.
“Our patients, staff and physicians are blessed beyond belief to have such a supportive Guild,” said Damon Harbison, vice president of operations at SSM Cardinal Glennon. “The funds from the 2014 Glennon Card efforts created enough capital to purchase new, advanced procedural and surgical scopes for numerous areas of the hospital. Patients undergoing general surgery, ear, nose and throat procedures, urological interventions, orthopedic surgeries or pulmonary procedures will benefit greatly from the new scopes. On behalf of everyone at Cardinal Glennon, we thank them for their continued support.”
The Glennon Guild, a ladies auxiliary made up of 300 volunteers, has been spearheading the Glennon Card program since 2011. In just four years, more than $591,000 has been raised to meet the needs of the medical center.
