Ambassador Ways to Give Back

Your family’s journey is a powerful way to inspire others and help connect others to the hospital. We have many outlets to connect your story to others in the community. We need your stories and faces for marketing materials, promotions, newsletters, fundraising campaigns and appeals, speaking engagements, events and so much more!

How do I get started? If you would like to share your story, please complete our Ambassador Survey so that we can begin looking for opportunities that fit your experience and availability.

The goal of the Family Advisory Council is to ensure that patients and families are at the center of decisions made at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon that affect quality of care, safety or patient experience. Council members draw on their diverse, individual and shared experiences as parents and former patients and foster family-centered initiatives within the whole fabric of the hospital. The council allows parents to connect with other families and directly provide feedback to clinicians, committees, and the administrative team. It is a collaborative group comprised of many parents of SSM Health Cardinal Glennon patients, some adult and former patients, and guest staff members. The council meets on the first Tuesday of every month from 5:30 - 6:30 pm on site at the hospital. Council members advise, share, partner and lead efforts which generally fall into three buckets: patient quality and safety, the patient/ family experience, and staff recognition opportunities. Goals are set annually for the council related to hospital initiatives, policies and health experience issues identified by families and staff.

SSM Health Cardinal Glennon’s E-Advisor Network is a way for families to share ideas and give constructive feedback from the comfort of their own homes. E- Advisors do not have to live near the hospital or have to commit a lot of their time. Surveys or questions are emailed once monthly for members to review and respond to. E-Advisors use their own personal experiences to make points, but are asked to keep their focus as objective as possible. The time commitment is extremely flexible. Advisors can complete the requested feedback whenever it is convenient for them within that month’s deadline.

You can help at the hospital from your own geography, your own time frame, and through your own connections and relationships! Host an event in your community or start your own fundraising page. This way, you can tell your story and do what you know and love to help kids! From lemonade stands to golf tournaments, the sky’s the limit!

From toys and activities to parent toiletries and snack cart items, there are many opportunities to support our children and parents, alike.

The greatest need we have as a charitable organization is funding to support the hospital. Any amount helps and makes an impact. Gifts made through the Foundation provide assistance to things like research, renovations, and the greatest needs of our patients, so that we may continue our mission of providing exceptional health care to ALL families, regardless of their ability to pay.

If you have a strong interest in volunteering time, there are opportunities both within the hospital or through the Foundation. As a hospital volunteer, whether you work directly with children in playrooms or help delivery the day’s mail, your work as a volunteer through the hospital helps support our full-time staff and our continuing mission. Each event and community program run by SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Foundation raises money for all kids treated at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon. Whether you are working a registration table, making calls at a phone bank, selling raffle tickets or manning a mystery photo booth, your time and hard work directly benefits our patients – making you their Glennon Rock Star!
