Glennon Sunday

Where Faith and Healing Unite

Every day, children like Luke are counting on us. Can we count on you? Make your gift today - your support allows us to ensure the doors at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital are always open to a child in need.

More than a hospital, SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital is a devoted partner in the health and well-being of families around the region. Since opening in 1956 as the country’s first free-standing Catholic pediatric hospital, Cardinal Glennon has revealed the healing presence of God by delivering accessible and exceptional health care to more than 10 million children in need.

Your gift this Glennon Sunday will help children and their families treated at Cardinal Glennon experience the healing presence of God – whether through the skilled hands of a surgeon, the comforting care of a nurse, or one of the many programs made possible by community support.

Luke Beck with his family.

When Luke Beck was 7 years old, his life took an unexpected turn when, days after playing catch with his siblings, his parents discovered unusual, painless bruises on his arms and legs. A call to his doctor and bloodwork led to a life-altering diagnosis of leukemia and a journey that tested and deepened their faith and resilience.

Throughout Luke’s three-year treatment at Cardinal Glennon, the Beck family’s devout faith sustained them. Surrounded by a community of caregivers and fellow families, they found solace and strength, knowing that God’s healing touch was ever-present during his treatment.

Today, Luke stands in remission, a testament to God’s divine grace and Cardinal Glennon’s exceptional care. Now, when Luke returns to the hospital for his follow-up visits, he brings hand-carved palm crosses to the chapel as gifts to patients and families to offer hope and faith as they continue fighting their battles.
