In-Kind Donations

Can my group bring our donations in and distribute them to the patients in the hospital?

We apologize, but due to our privacy and infection control policies, donations are processed through Cardinal Glennon Children's Foundation. The Child Life Department will distribute the donations to the patients.

Can we donate stuffed animals?

Due to infection control and patient safety, we can only accept NEW stuffed toys. We cannot accept stuffed animals that have been played with or have been a collector’s item on display or on a shelf at home (i.e.. Beanie Babies)

Can I donate books?

We can accept NEW books. They will be distributed by our Shining Star school program.

Can my group make homemade items and donate them to Cardinal Glennon?

Due to infection prevention protocols, we are unable to accept any handmade items including cards, blankets, attire, etc.

Can I bring food and candy or baked goods to patients?

We are unable to accept food or candy donations due to the restricted diets and food allergies of the patients.

How many gifts do I need to bring?

We will gladly accept donations of all sizes.

Can we donate children’s clothing?

Children’s clothes are acceptable with the stipulation they MUST be brand new and odor free with the tags intact.

Can I dress up as a holiday character and visit patients?

Can I order online and have it delivered to SSM Health Cardinal Glennon?

We are updating our Amazon Wish List and will have it available soon.

Can I donate sporting or other event tickets to the patients and families?

We welcome ticket donations. If you are interested in donating ticket donations, please contact Becca Polizzi(opens in new tab) directly to learn more about this process. Due to patient confidentiality, the Child Life Department will distribute the tickets.

Do you accept gift cards?

Yes! We accept donations of gift cards in denominations of $15 or less to help families and patients at the hospital. These gift cards may be for gas stations, grocery stores or department stores such as Walmart. However, we are unable to accept general-use gift cards issued by Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.
